VR and 3D Content

Explore immersive environments and digitized artifacts in 3D and VR

Some history you read. Some history you step inside. Our VR and 3D Content transforms archival materials into immersive environments and digitized artifacts — letting you walk through recreated places, examine objects from every angle, and experience community stories in three dimensions.

Virtual reality gives the archive a new kind of power: a demolished landmark can be rebuilt, a historic room can be entered, and an artifact too fragile to handle can be turned over in your hands. These experiences are built from the same photographs, documents, and testimony that anchor our collections, so immersion never comes at the cost of accuracy.

This is one of the newest frontiers of our work, and it's growing. Each environment we build brings another piece of history off the page and into a space you can explore.
