"Are You a Librarian? The Untold Story of Black Librarians" is an upcoming documentary—also developing a living digital archive—that preserves and amplifies the overlooked histories, struggles, and contributions of Black librarians in the United States.
The Darlington County Cultural Realism Complex, founded on January 1, 1972 by educator Wilhelmina P. Johnson in Darlington, SC, preserves and digitizes local African-American cultural history—including archives of Jazz musicians Buddy and Elle Mae Johnson and the original author of “Brer Rabbit”—and focuses on community-centered education, performance arts, and historical legacy.
The Charles and Etta Dudley Foundation in Nashville is establishing and preserving the Dudley Historical Archives- to honor and chronicle the legacy of Charles and Etta Dudley and support educational and historical enrichment in the South Central Conference region.
